The facility operates a 12-bed emergency department with approximately 27,692 annual visits, Epic EMR, portable bedside ultrasound, 24-hour physician coverage, and 18-24 hours of APC support daily. Patient volume averages approximately 3.0 patients per hour during daytime hours and 0.6 overnight. Travel is covered, a sleep room is available and may be eligible for select 24-hour shifts based on patient volume. This is an attractive long-term opportunity for Emergency Medicine physicians seeking a low-volume community ED setting with flexible scheduling and strong clinical support.

Opportunity Details:

An established community hospital in southern Indiana is seeking an Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing locum tenens coverage beginning in December 2026. The emergency department sees approximately 27,700 annual visits and operates with 24-hour physician coverage supported by advanced practice clinicians. Providers will work in a modern ED utilizing Epic EMR and portable bedside ultrasound. Requirements:

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine and hold an active Illinois medical license. Physicians should have recent Emergency Medicine experience and be comfortable practicing independently in a community emergency department setting. Epic experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to provide ongoing coverage and meet all credentialing and onboarding requirements.
