Dr. Shapiro began moonlighting during his third year of residency to secure additional income while maintaining the flexibility required for his training program. His exposure to staffing agencies revealed a common practice of treating physicians as mere CVs, lacking personal attention.

As a staunch advocate for providing physicians and clinicians with opportunities for supplemental income, experience enrichment, network expansion, work-life balance and control over their schedules, Dr. Shapiro founded OnCall Solutions 20 years ago. OnCall Solutions proudly provides an elevated experience in staffing and recruiting through our distinguished group of Board-Certified Chief Medical Officers. These professionals collaborate with you, offering peer support and guidance throughout your journey, ensuring a unique and supportive experience. With a mission of providing the best opportunities to pursue the desired clinical experiences, maximize financial opportunities, and optimize lifestyle preferences, Dr. Shapiro has grown OnCall Solutions from one state, to offering job opportunities nationwide.

Scott has been married to his wife Marci for 24 years. They have three daughters and a miniature goldendoodle. Scott and his family love to ski, spend summer weekends at the Jersey Shore, and are big fans of their Philadelphia sports teams.

Ralph Gonzalez, MD

Board Certified Internal Medicine
Executive Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Gonzalez earned his medical degree from Temple University and completed his residency training at Christiana Care in Delaware. With over 15 years of clinical experience, he has held key positions, including Hospital Chief Medical Officer, Section Chief of Hospital Medicine, and Associate Medical Director.

Sharing a deep belief in OnCall Solutions' long-term mission and aspiring to contribute to the unique physician experience, Dr. Gonzalez has joined us as Executive Chief Medical Officer, spearheading efforts for both clinical and business excellence.

Outside of work, Ralph enjoys travel, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Matthew Murphy, MD

Board Certified Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine
Chief Medical Officer

Born and raised in Scranton, PA, Dr. Murphy completed his residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Murphy worked with OnCall Solutions during his training to earn supplemental income and expand his professional network.

During his time working with OnCall Solutions as a moonlighter, Dr. Murphy quickly became a resource for peers looking for moonlighting work. He joined the OnCall Solutions administrative team in 2018 as a Chief Medical Officer. With Dr. Murphy’s in-depth clinical experience and insight, he will make sure you are provided with a thorough clinical understanding of your job responsibilities and be a support for you every step of the way.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys exercising, playing golf, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
