Experienced NP/PA | Cardiac Surgery Locums Assignment | CT

SCOPE OF WORK: • Provide inpatient cardiac surgery care, including patient evaluation, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical management. • Assist with perioperative care and postoperative recovery management for cardiac surgery patients. • Participate in operating room coverage, including first assist duties when qualified and credentialed. • Coordinate care across the cardiac surgery service to ensure quality patient outcomes. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and daily rounding. • Manage postoperative cardiac surgery patients and develop treatment plans. • Perform chest tube insertion, management, and related procedural care as clinically appropriate. • Document care accurately within EPIC and communicate effectively with the surgical team. • Support continuity of care throughout hospitalization and recovery. VOLUME | SUPPORT: • Provider will rotate with approximately seven additional APP team members. • Established cardiac surgery program with collaborative physician and APP support. • Full-time coverage model designed to provide continuity across day and night shifts. SCHEDULE: • Full-time coverage consisting of three 13-hour shifts per week. • Rotating shifts include 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM. • Weekend rotation required, typically less than every other weekend and dependent on staffing needs. • No call responsibilities.
