Orthopedic Surgeon | Locum Tenens | Hazard, KY

• Scope of Work: – Provide orthopedic surgery call coverage for a regional medical center serving a broad patient population. – Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic conditions, injuries, and surgical emergencies presenting during call coverage. -Perform operative and non-operative orthopedic procedures within granted privileges and facility guidelines. Collaborate with emergency medicine, hospitalist, anesthesia, nursing, and ancillary teams to ensure seamless patient care. • Clinical Requirements/Responsibilities | Volume & Support: – Estimated 15-17 shifts per month available. – Coverage includes 24-hour orthopedic call responsibilities. -Emergency privileges may be available to expedite onboarding when appropriate. – Respond to orthopedic consultations, admissions, and emergency department coverage needs. -Support available from hospital nursing staff, surgical services, and multidisciplinary care teams. Patient volume and call activity may vary based on facility needs and seasonal demand.
